• BMW Group Thailand celebrates four consecutive years of success, maintaining the top spot in Thailand’s premium automotive segment with 15,477 BMW and MINI vehicle registrations in 2023, marking a 3% increase from the previous year.

An Even Stronger Step in the Fourth Year Towards Worldwide Growth

The success derived from marketing and customer service strategies implemented in partnership with authorised dealers in Thailand throughout 2023 has enabled BMW Group Thailand to maintain its Number One position in the premium automotive segment for four consecutive years. This achievement, combined with the BMW and MINI brands setting a new record last year with total registrations of 15,477 vehicles, marks an increase of 3% (comprising 14,128 BMW vehicles and 1,349 MINI vehicles). This serves as a testament to the dedication of our employees, authorised dealers, distributors, and all BMW partners in Thailand who have collaborated to deliver the highest level of sheer driving experience to our customers. This effort has significantly strengthened customer loyalty to the BMW brand and its products.

On a global scale, the BMW Group continues to experience robust growth. In 2023, the sales of BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce reached record highs, representing a total of 2,555,341 vehicles delivered worldwide, an increase of 6.5%. Notably, the electric vehicle segment saw a sales growth of 74.4% from 2022, resulting in a total of 376,183 vehicles delivered worldwide. These successful results reflect the increasing demand for electric vehicles, in response to the growing trend of sustainable energy both globally and in Thailand. The BMW Group anticipates that the demand for electric vehicles will continue to grow strongly and is projected to achieve sales of more than 500,000 units in 2024.

Number One in EV and Premium Automotive Segment for Tomorrow

BMW Group Thailand has demonstrated robust performance in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, including the BMW iX3, BMW iX, BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW i7, and MINI Cooper SE. The growth in this segment from BMW and MINI reached an impressive 200% in 2023 compared to the previous year, with a total of 1,604 vehicles registered. This reinforces BMW’s commitment to shaping the future of mobility and catering to the demand for more sustainable lifestyles. This growth reflects the increasing consumer interest in electric vehicles both globally and in Thailand.

A key factor contributing to BMW Thailand’s success is the continuous introduction of battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Customers can enjoy a comprehensive range of electric vehicles across BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. The remarkable BMW i5 continues the success of the BMW 5 Series family with cutting-edge technology, superior driving performance, and a sleek, luxurious appearance. Moreover, BMW’s Luxury Class which includes the BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, BMW 8 Series, BMW X7, and BMW XM, continues to experience strong growth in Thailand. With a total of 668 vehicles registered in 2023, an increase of 46% from the previous year, BMW’s position as a provider of the ultimate driving experience is reinforced. This success redefines the concept of luxury vehicles and offers unrivaled exclusivity.

Customer-Centric Approach Results in an All-Time High Customer Satisfaction

In addition to its robust business performance in Thailand, BMW Group Thailand has achieved the highest consumer satisfaction scores in its history, as evidenced by the Net Promoter Score (NPS) in 2023. With evaluation scores of 94 points for sales and 90 points for aftersales service quality, these figures have increased steadily over the past four years. It underscores BMW Group Thailand’s commitment to a customer-centric business approach, collaborating closely with network of authorised dealers nationwide to elevate customer satisfaction to the highest possible level. This involves delivering the best service and ensuring the ultimate driving experience for customers at every touchpoint.

In the past two years, BMW joined forces with numerous partners in Thailand to launch new and renovated showrooms and service centers under the “Retail Next” design concept in 9 locations. This initiative creates a next-level atmosphere for the BMW experience, making it more relaxed and accessible to customers from the moment they step into the showroom. Notably, BMW Thailand and Performance Motors inaugurated “Performance Motors Ratchaphruek,” featuring the first officially certified BMW M showroom in Ratchaphruek and surrounding areas. This facility also includes a BMW Premium Selection Centre, offering certified quality used cars from BMW.

Furthermore, in collaboration with Millennium Auto Group Co., Ltd., BMW Group Thailand has advanced its strategic plan to expand the business ecosystem in Thailand’s southern region. By selecting Surat Thani province as a strategic location, the “BMW and MINI Millennium Auto” Surat Thani Branch showroom and comprehensive service center was launched. This expansion helps cover key southern areas including Hat Yai, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phang Nga, and others. Additionally, in partnership with Nelson’s Autohaus, the company expanded its service area in the eastern region with a new showroom in Rayong province. With an investment of over 100 million baht, this facility includes a spacious showroom, repair service center, and a BMW-certified body and paint service center, ensuring end-to-end customer service. Renovations and expansion also covered a range of other locations including Amorn Rangsit, Millennium Auto Rama 4, Millennium Auto Siam Paragon, and Millennium Auto Ubon Ratchathani. In 2024, ongoing investments have been planned to elevate customer experience through Retail Next concept in many locations nationwide.

BMW Financial Services: Another Year of Success and New Service Offerings

Despite the challenges of 2023, including rising interest rates, BMW Financial Services Thailand continued to show strong growth. By delivering new services in various digital formats and focusing on customer and partner satisfaction, the company achieved significant milestones last year. Its portfolio size grew by up to 2% compared to 2022, with over 50% of BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad customers continuing to trust and choose our financial services. This trust is further evidenced by the highest overall Net Promoter Score for customer journey in 2024, especially a 10-point increase during the ‘End of Term’ phase.

BMW Financial Services Thailand also saw strong performance in the Used Car finance segment, with a growth of over 25% year-over-year and a penetration rate of over 62% in the corporate segment. This reflects the trust and success derived from our commitment to a customer-centric strategy, supported by additional investments in 2023 designed to transform the customer experience. Last year, BMW Financial Services Thailand launched the BMW Thailand Web Online Shop, allowing customers to verify their identity online (National Digital ID – NDID) and apply for financial services digitally. These digital services streamline the loan approval process, making it more efficient and convenient for customers, and enhancing back-end operational efficiency. The introduction of digital verification services for digital signatures will further streamline the process, reducing the need for scanning or uploading documents and face-to-face verification. This will enable faster contract verification with just a few clicks, ensuring customers enjoy peace of mind and an elevated experience tailored to their needs.

In addition, the ‘MyBMW Finance’ and ‘MyMINI Finance’ services were launched, offering customers 24/7 access to their financial contracts and other services anytime anywhere. Moreover, BMW Financial Services Thailand has established its own insurance broker business,

launching its first product, Payment Protection Insurance, under “BMW Insurance Broker (Thailand) Co., Ltd.” In 2024, the company plans to continue expanding its business by offering car insurance and extended-warranty services.

Fostering Sustainability and Responsibility towards Society for the Automotive Industry of Tomorrow

BMW Group Thailand is steadfast in its commitment to fostering sustainability for society and the environment, aligning with its long-term objectives. A key initiative in this pursuit is the continuation of the BMW Service Apprentice project, aimed at nurturing skill development in areas related to electric vehicles among vocational students in Thailand. This initiative is supported by a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, which aligns with the government’s 20-year national strategy (2018 – 2037). The strategy focuses on enhancing competitiveness in the transportation and logistics industry, with the overarching goal of transforming the entire automotive industry towards electric vehicles. By developing a local workforce equipped with the right skills and expertise, BMW Group Thailand is contributing to the future readiness of Thailand’s automotive industry. A total of 282 vocational students from 5 institutes have participated in the Service Apprentice program. Meanwhile, a total of 111 students from 2 vocational colleges have taken part in the Dual Excellence program which is operated by BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand.

In addition to fostering technical skills, BMW Group Thailand is dedicated to inspiring the concept of the circular economy among the new generation. In 2023, the company collaborated with 6 partner organizations, including Central Group, Chaipattana Foundation, Microsoft Thailand, SCG, Noble Development, and Delta Electronics (Thailand), to launch the “CHOICEISYOURS 2023” project. This initiative offered students in Thfailand the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive three-month training program. Participants engaged in a blend of theoretical and practical activities under the guidance of professionals from the seven organizations. The project aimed to inspire students to delve deeper into the concept of the circular economy, offering them field trips to the business operation sites of the partner organizations. These visits provided invaluable insights into the principles of the circular economy, showcasing the recycling of resources within a value chain and highlighting ways to enhance resource management efficiency by maximizing usage while minimizing the consumption of new resources. This initiative will be continued this year.

Through these initiatives, BMW Group Thailand demonstrates its commitment to not only advancing the automotive industry towards a more sustainable future but also investing in the next generation of leaders and innovators who will drive societal and environmental stewardship in the years to come.

The new BMW R 1300 GS is arriving as the “next level” of the GS touring enduro range, bringing with it an almost all-new design that shaves 12 kg off the bike’s weight. The GS line’s legendary two-cylinder boxer engine returns once more in a more compact design than ever, offering 1,300 cc displacement, a total output of 107 kW / 145 hp at 7,750 rpm, and 149 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm.
These improvements make the R 1300 GS’s boxer engine the most powerful ever produced by BMW.

At the center of the new suspension is the sheet metal shell main frame made of steel, which in addition to being significantly optimized in terms of installation space also offers higher levels of stiffness than the predecessor model. For the rear frame, the previous tubular steel structure has now been replaced with a die-cast aluminum construction. Created with city living in mind, the new BMW CE 02 is an all-electric vehicle that is neither motorbike nor scooter – offering agility, practicality, and robustness to ensure fun on every ride. Its design is an expression of freedom and lightheartedness – similar to a skateboard, which is deliberately reflected in the design of the seat. Black as the basic color for the frame, wheels, front fender and triple clamp fairing at the top, and granite grey metallic matt for the engine cover offer just as exciting a contrast as the interplay of matt and high-gloss surfaces.

The new BMW CE 02 is powered by an air-cooled synchronous motor and two 48-volt, 1.96 kWh lithium-ion batteries that can be removed for care and maintenance. The engine produces up to 11 kW / 15 hp with 55 Nm max torque, giving the CE 02 snappy acceleration with just 3 seconds required to go from 0 to 50 km/h and a top speed of 95 km/h. Fully charged, the CE 02 can cover up to 95 kilometers – and the batteries can charge from 0 to 100% in 210 minutes or 20 to 80% in 102 minutes with the included quick charger, which can provide 1,500 watts of power. The new BMW CE 02 relies on a torsionally rigid double-loop frame made of tubular steel. BMW Motorrad’s new K 1600 lineup is ready to embrace the open road with a superior touring experience for every moment of every ride – with each model offering its own take on long-distance cruises and luxurious comfort. The BMW K 1600 GT represents the particularly agile, dynamic variant of the six-cylinder design, while the K 1600 GTL with its more comfortable ergonomics and standard top case is more for pleasurable riding. The BMW K 1600 B, meanwhile, provides characteristic “streamlining” with a low rear section in bagger style, and the K 1600 Grand America builds further upon the K 1600 B with exclusive equipment features that make long-distance rides thoroughly comfortable and fascinating.

All four models in the K 1600 range are powered by a six-cylinder in-line engine that produces up to 118 kW / 160 hp at 6,750 rpm and a max torque of 180 Nm at 5,250 rpm. Engine drag torque control (MSR) is also presented on all four K 1600 models to help prevent unstable riding conditions caused by excessive rear wheel slip while coasting or shifting down gears.

The new BMW K 1600 models feature the “Next Generation” BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) that enhances safety, performance, and comfort in virtually all scenarios with automatic adaptation to current riding conditions, maneuvers, and even riding positions. By default, this Dynamic ESA system operates in “Road” mode, and the rider can opt for firmer suspension damping and more precise handling by switching to “Dynamic” mode at the press of a button. As a pioneer in riding safety, BMW Motorrad has made full LED headlight with LED lens technology and daytime riding light a standard for the K 1600 models to provide bright, clear illumination on the road. Adaptive headlight functionality allows the low-beam LED headlight to turn into the curve while cornering for optimal visibility. The bikes also come with additional light functions as standard to make the riding experience more intense, comfortable, and practical. Upon switching on the ignition, the “welcome light” function is activated to light up the main headlight and rear light for a short time, while the “goodbye” function also briefly activates the lights after switching the engine off before fading to darkness.
