The new BMW X3 M50 xDrive and BMW X3 20d xDrive M Sport Pro
Price: To be announced

The fourth-generation X3 is set to take up the mantle of the talented all-rounder in BMW’s Thai lineup, bringing with it greater sporting appeal and major improvements in efficiency and dynamism. In addition to a new design language that lends both models an aura of dynamic grace, the new BMW X3 M50 xDrive will also become the first M Performance variant of the X3 range to be available to Thai motorists.

The new BMW X3 offers an enhanced exterior presence thanks to the almost monolithic overall appearance with distinctive BMW X model proportions – all in a crisply defined package that has been reduced to the essentials. At 34 millimetres longer and 29 millimetres wider than the previous generation, the new X3 pairs these expanded dimensions with a 25-milimetre drop in height and wider tracks to produce a more powerful and sporty look than before.

The large BMW kidney grille in the upright front end of the new BMW X3 has been refreshed with a new interior structure, comprising vertically and diagonally arranged bars that are additionally accented by BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting in both variants. The daytime driving lights, side lights and turn signal indicators in the LED headlights are now all produced by L-shaped, overlapping light sources. Adaptive LED Headlights with non-dazzling matrix high beam and cornering light functions, plus blue design detailing are available, as are M Lights Shadowline.

Bold side skirts and a roofline extending deep into the rear end are the distinguishing features of the new model’s sporty silhouette. The prominently flared wheel arches create the impression of considerable width at the rear, while the flush-mounted rear window is bordered by a long roof spoiler and the adjoining side air deflectors. At the rear end, the BMW X3 20d xDrive M Sport Pro comes with exhaust tailpipes integrated out of sight in the rear apron and 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Double spoke bicolour. The BMW X3 M50 xDrive, meanwhile, stands out with twin tailpipes on both sides to amp up the sportiness alongside 21-inch M light alloy wheels in Star spoke style bicolour.

On the inside, the new BMW X3 blends robust SAV functionality with ample spaciousness and a premium ambience full of individual style. The BMW Curved Display, BMW Interaction Bar, steering wheels with a flat-bottomed rim and the new-look gear selector lever are the defining elements of the cockpit’s modern take on hallmark BMW driver-focused design. Light elements in a contrasting colour are placed in the centre console and door trims to form a border around function buttons, ventilation controllers, air vents and door openers. To ensure the X3 range’s signature versatility, the new X3 brings a 570-litre increase in load space to a maximum of 1,700 litres. The driver and passengers will also enjoy exceptional comfort in newly designed electrically adjustable sport seats upholstered in Veganza in the X3 20d xDrive M Sport Pro. Meanwhile, the X3 M50 xDrive comes with BMW Individual leather Merino which is available for the first time ever in the X3 range. Also making its debut for the first time in a BMW model is the Luxury instrument panel made from recycled polyester with a high-class knitted texture.

Under the bonnet of the new BMW X3 20d xDrive M Sport Pro lies a four-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 2.0 litres, producing a maximum output of 145 kW / 197 hp for a 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds. The high-powered X3 M50 xDrive, as the first M Performance X3 model to be available in Thailand, will take on- and off-road thrills to a whole other level with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine. With up to 293 kW / 398 hp of power transmitted to all four wheels via eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive, the new BMW X3 M50 xDrive can hit 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and deliver incredibly satisfying bursts of speed through the added Sport Boost function. Both X3 variants pair their respective engines with 48V mild hybrid technology to deliver enhanced efficiency and rapid power delivery.

The new BMW X3 offers clearly noticeable increases in agility, cornering stability and long-distance comfort over its direct predecessor thanks to increased rigidity, wider rear track, and finely-tuned components and control systems. The X3 M50 xDrive brings even more dynamic prowess with its M Sport suspension, sport steering wheel, and M Sport brakes. On the driving assistance front, the new X3 is equipped as standard with front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning and Speed Limit Info, along with the Driving Assistant Plus including Lane Change Warning and manual Speed Limit Assist in the X3 20d xDrive M Sport Pro and Driving Assistant Professional in the X3 M50 xDrive. The Parking Assistant Plus in both variants comes as standard and incorporates features such as the Reversing Assistant and a Reversing Assist Camera and can be upgraded to Parking Assistant Professional through ConnectedDrive Upgrade which will add Manoeuvering Assistant and Remote Control Parking.

Besides the extra assistance systems, the new X3 boosts comfort and driving pleasure alike with features such as three-zone automatic climate control, acoustic glazing, Comfort Access, automatic tailgate operation, an electric folding mechanism for the exterior mirrors, an alarm system and BMW Live Cockpit Professional.

The new BMW X3 20d xDrive will be available in a wide range of paintwork options – including Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Brooklyn Grey Metallic, and Tanzanite Blue Metallic. The BMW X3 M50 xDrive will also offer its own exclusive Dune Grey metallic finish.

The new BMW M5
Price: 12,999,000 THB (VAT and BSI Standard incl.)

The new BMW M5 with Ceramic Brake
Price: 13,699,000 THB (VAT and BSI Standard incl.)

Building upon a 40-year legacy, the new BMW M5 is the seventh generation of the venerable high-performance executive saloon – and the first to feature an electrified drive system.

Now powered by a model-specific version of the M HYBRID system, the new M5 pairs a 4.4-litre, high-revving V8 engine – complete with M TwinPower Turbo technology and 430 kW / 585 hp of power – with a specifically-tuned 145 kW / 197 hp electric motor and eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. The end result is a total output of 535 kW / 727 hp, 1,000 Nm of peak torque, 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 305 km/h with M driver’s package (unlocked after 2,000-km run-in period with inspection at BMW authorised service outlet). With advanced chassis technology tuned to match these performance characteristics, the new BMW M5 achieves transverse and longitudinal dynamics unparalleled in this market segment and brings M performance into a new dimension.

Through the electric motor’s ability to instantly generate power and intelligently controlled interplay with the combustion engine, the M HYBRID system has brought technological innovations from BMW’s endurance racing machines to the streets to provide delay-free response for every movement of the accelerator. This advanced powertrain works alongside a sports exhaust system crafted to deliver a multi-faceted and enthralling engine note – and capped with 100-millimetre Black Chrome trims.

In all-electric mode, the new BMW M5 can hit a top speed of 140 km/h while still maintaining its immensely satisfying soundscape with BMW IconicSounds Electric, which delivers authentic audible responses to the driver’s every move.

The new M5’s immense power is channelled to the road via the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which features a rear-biased setup. Alternatively, the system can operate in 2WD mode with power routed exclusively to the rear wheels and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) turned off for a purer and soulfully thrilling driving experience. M Servotronic steering, Integral Active Steering for the rear wheels, and adaptive M suspension with M-specific tuning enable the driver to fine tune the new M5’s connection to the road and maximize comfort and performance to match the day’s demands.

Beyond the incredible performance, the new BMW M5 expresses its athletic elegance through design elements such as prominent wheel arch and side skirt extensions, 20- (front) and 21-inch (rear) M light alloy wheels in black Double spoke style, sculpted front apron, and an embossed “M5” logo on the Hofmeister kink. Similarly, the interior comes adorned in M-specific features that further underline the car’s multi-layered character.

The control panel on the centre console of the new BMW M5 houses a model-specific composition of buttons which can be used to tailor the driving experience to individual preferences in a variety of ways – including direct access to the configuration of the drive system, Drivelogic, chassis, steering, braking system and M xDrive, as well as the intensity of brake energy recuperation. Two overall vehicle setups can be stored and selected using the M buttons on the steering wheel. When they switch from the default ROAD setting to SPORT, interventions from the driver assistance systems are restricted to just the essential functions required for sporty driving, as is the content shown in the information display.

The new M Hybrid button allows the driver to choose between HYBRID mode – for intelligently controlled interplay between the combustion engine and electric motor to maximise either efficiency or performance, depending on the driving situation – and the ELECTRIC setting, in which the combustion engine is only brought into play by accelerator kickdown or using the gearshift paddles. eCONTROL mode is used for effective brake energy recuperation and maintaining battery charge at a constant level.

Pushing the DSC button activates M Dynamic Mode, which raises the DSC intervention thresholds when it comes to applying brake inputs and reducing engine output. It is also possible to switch DSC off completely. With M Drive Professional, the driver can also switch to TRACK mode and take advantage of performance-oriented features such as the M Laptimer and Boost Control.

With a much wider selection of automated systems for driving and parking, the new BMW M5 takes assurance and comfort in everyday driving to a new level. Standard specifications now include Driving Assistance Professional, front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning including lane return with steering assistance, the Evasion Assistant, the Attentiveness Assistant and the Speed Limit Info system. At your destination, the Parking Assistant Professional and Reversing Assistant promise to make every spot a breeze to handle.

On top of these comprehensive controls and support systems, the BMW M5’s cockpit features a newly designed, flat-bottomed M leather steering wheel with illuminated M buttons, M multifunction seats, and the BMW Curved Display with M-specific content. With an upgraded version of BMW iDrive on board, the driver and passengers can interact with the car’s systems via touch and speech. Also playing their part in the exclusive interior ambience are the standard Merino leather trim, the BMW Interaction Bar, four-zone air conditioning, and ambient lighting with M-specific interior lighting. For comfort and entertainment, the new M5 also boasts a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, a wireless charging tray, Comfort Access, and automatic tailgate operation.

The new BMW M4 CS
Price: 14,999,000 THB (VAT and BSI Standard incl.)

Also joining the growing BMW M lineup for Thai motorists is the new BMW M4 CS – a race-focused special edition of the BMW M4 Coupe that introduces even more attributes from the high-performance segment into a premium midsize four-seater. Positioned between the M4 Competition Coupe and the M4 CSL, the new M4 CS is a pure-bred performance talent that has more than proven itself on the track with a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:21.989 minutes

The race-focused character of the new BMW M4 CS is immediately recognisable and a noticeable companion over every journey due to the presence of its muscular engine – a high-revving, six-cylinder in-line plant with M TwinPower Turbo technology developed for the BMW M3/BMW M4 range. This 3.0-litre unit served as the basis for the engine in the BMW M4 GT3 and now benefits from BMW M’s racing experience with components engineered for the gruelling challenges of track use. Producing up to 405 kW / 551 hp, this engine ups the power ante over the M4 Competition Coupe by 15 kW / 20 hp purely through revisions of M TwinPower Turbo technology. Power delivery has been similarly enhanced with the 650 Nm peak torque now available over a wider rev range from 2,750 to 5,950 rpm.

The instantly available power and high-revving character of the engine pave the way for imposing acceleration figures. The new BMW M4 CS dashes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, while 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) takes 11.1 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 302 km/h.

The engine’s drive torque is relayed to all four wheels of the new BMW M4 CS via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, which enables the driver to alter the transmission’s shift characteristics for comfort, sporty driving, or all-out performance on the track. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system that lies beneath works to maximise traction agility and directional stability in any situation, and the rear-wheel bias adds to the signature M feeling when accelerating or powering through corners. Drivers can also switch off the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system altogether and engage pure rear-wheel drive via 2WD mode.

The chassis technology for the new BMW M4 CS has been tuned precisely to the performance characteristics of the engine, the overall vehicle concept and its weight distribution. An M front end strut brace – also engineered for lightness – is equipped in the BMW M4 CS to increase torsional rigidity and improve handling through dynamically taken corners. The electronically controlled dampers of the adaptive M suspension on the new BMW M4 CS likewise come in a model-specific setup, as do its electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio and its integrated braking system. The addition of M Dynamic Mode gives drivers extra leeway to explore the car’s dynamic limits by pushing back intervention points for the DSC system for an extremely sporty driving style.

The special-edition model is equipped as standard with M Carbon Ceramic brake, forged M light-alloy wheels in exclusive Star-spoke design, and track tyres. Elsewhere, extensive lightweight design and engineering measures – including the use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) for the roof, bonnet, front splitter and air intakes, exterior mirror caps, rear diffuser and spoiler – help bring the car’s centre of gravity closer to the road for greater agility. CFRP is also present in the interior with centre console, shift paddles, interior trim elements and the structure of the M Carbon bucket seats. All in all, lightweight design measures bring the car’s weight down by around 15 kilograms compared to the BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive.

The new BMW M4 CS is not only a standout on the track but also a star that draws every pair of eyes on the road. New BMW Individual paint finishes Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic are both available exclusively for the M4 CS alongside the more subtle M Brooklyn Grey metallic and Sapphire Black metallic, while surfaces in exposed carbon fibre provide a stunning contrast. Up front, a weight-saving, frameless BMW kidney grille – complete with red contour lines and an M4 CS badge – offers a stripped-back feel reminiscent of racing machines. The grille is flanked by eye-catching headlights with a yellow hue to the daytime running lights in tribute to GT racing cars, while the rear lights – with Laserlight technology previously introduced in the BMW M4 CSL – present a striking 3D, free-floating effect.

The cockpit of the new BMW M4 CS focuses squarely on delivering an exhilarating driving experience alongside comfortable daily driving. The standard M Alcantara steering wheel in three-spoke design with a flat-bottomed rim offers a snug, secure grip to go with racetrack-inspired touches like the red centre marker and CFRP shift paddles. The M Carbon bucket seats are upholstered in Merino leather and adorned in an exclusive black/red color scheme with contrast stitching – a theme that carries over to the rear compartment of the M4 CS. Red “CS” lettering on the centre console, M seat belts with contrast stitching in the BMW M GmbH colours, an Anthracite-coloured headliner, interior trim strips in Carbon Fibre finish and door sill plates with the inscription “M4 CS” all add to the exclusive ambience inside the car.

The latest version of the BMW iDrive display and control/operation system based on BMW Operating System 8.5 provides intuitive control of numerous vehicle functions and digital services. The BMW Curved Display features M-specific readouts and is angled towards the driver, helping them to focus on the road ahead. The fully digital screen grouping is formed by a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a control display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches. The familiar M Shift Lights appear at the top of the information display, while the driving stability system, M xDrive and traction control modes are all indicated in the lower area.

The M-specific Setup button on the centre console enables direct access to the settings options for the engine, chassis, steering, braking system and M xDrive. Two individually configurable setup variants can be stored permanently and then retrieved using one of the two M buttons on the steering wheel. Also fitted as standard in the new BMW M4 CS is the M Drive Professional system, which includes track-optimised functions such as the M Drift Analyser, which evaluates and records purposefully executed cornering slides, the M Laptimer, which provides detailed data on laps of the track and allows sporty-minded drivers to share their exploits with the community, and M Traction Control with ten selectable stages.

The M Mode button on the centre console is another tool in the M Drive Professional package and can be used to adjust both driver assistance system responses and the content shown in the information display and Head-Up Display. As well as the ROAD and SPORT settings, the BMW M4 CS also offers a TRACK mode designed exclusively for use on race circuits.

The new BMW R 12 nineT
The new BMW R 12

The new BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 are classic roadsters and cruisers that combine the authentic and beefy character of the boxer engine, the design language of traditional motorcycle eras blended with innovative technology, and a modular concept that offers the rider maximum customization options. Deeply inspired by the beloved BMW R nineT roadster, the two new bikes each present their own takes on the idea of a classic roadster – with the R 12 nineT following closely in the footsteps of the original R nineT under the development principle of “The Spirit of nineT” and the R 12 focusing on simple and relaxed cruising through its own motto – “The Spirit of Easy”.

First unveiled during BMW Motorrad’s centenary celebrations, the new BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 both carry on the legendary legacy of BMW Motorrad’s two-cylinder boxer engines. The 1,170 cc, air/oil-cooled version present on both bikes is a proven choice that many BMW Motorrad fans will be familiar with – tuned to produce 80 kW / 109 hp on the R 12 nineT and 70 kW / 95 hp for the R 12. Both also feature a completely redesigned chassis with a new airbox integrated under the seat, plus a left-mounted “Twin Pipe” exhaust system with two rear silencers in reverse cone design.

The centrepiece of the new BMW R 12 models is the completely newly developed tubular bridge steel spaceframe. This rear frame is bolted to this main frame, reducing weight through fewer fastenings and achieving a more classic appearance. Up front, the R 12 nineT comes with two analog round instrument panels, a USB-C port, and a 12V socket for the onboard network. The R 12 fulfils its promise of simplified joy with a single speedometer.

The R 12 nineT’s side profile is shaped by a rising, dynamic line created by the aluminium tank with brushed and clear-coated side panels, the seat, and the tail-hump. The fuel tank in the rear is now 30 millimetres shorter and narrower compared to its predecessor – making for improved riding ergonomics. The rider is closer to the handlebars, benefits from improved knee contact, and has a more front-oriented seating position on the motorcycle overall.

The R 12 is more focused on the design language of a classic cruiser and opts for a steel tank reminiscent of the so-called “Toaster Tanks” from the BMW /5 models of the 1970s. The classic teardrop shape of the bike forms a descending line that runs through the standard solo seat to the curved, low-mounted rear wheel cover. The large 19-inch front wheel and the small 16-inch rear wheel complement this harmoniously. The classic cruiser design is also reflected in the relaxed seating position with low seat height and wide handlebars.

The R 12 nineT comes equipped with standard riding modes “Rain”, “Road” and “Dynamic” and “Roll” and “Rock” in the R 12. Both models are equipped with a host of safety features, including Hill Start Control, which makes starting on inclines easier, Tyre Pressure Control, Cruise Control, and Gearshift Assistant Pro. The Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and BMW Motorrad ABS Pro provide additional safety, especially during cornering and under extreme braking, ensuring a maximum safe riding experience for its rider and passenger. The adaptive Headlight Pro and Connected Ride Control are also equipped as standard.

Paintwork options for the R 12 nineT include San Remo Green metallic and Option 719 Aluminium, while the R 12 offers Blackstorm metallic and Aventurin Red metallic.

The new BMW R 18 (locally assembled) in Mars Red Metallic
Price: 890,000 THB (VAT included)

The new BMW R 18 (locally assembled) in Blackstorm metallic / Vintage
Price: 905,000 THB (VAT included)

The BMW R 18 is the essence of motorcycling – a bike in its original, natural form. Taking the brand’s past for inspiration, the designers have achieved the appeal of a hand-built custom bike by concentrating only on the essentials, every part of which serves a functional purpose. The balanced proportions are reminiscent of classics like the BMW R 5 and convey – even from a distance – the timeless beauty that comes about whenever things are consistently reduced to their bare essentials.

The centerpiece of the BMW R 18 is the large, newly designed, two-cylinder boxer engine. The peak output is 67 kW (91 hp) at 4,750 rpm, while maximum torque is 158 Nm at 3,000 rpm. From 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, over 150 Nm of torque is available at all times, and this elemental pulling power is combined with a full, resonant sound. The suspension, meanwhile, is marked by a double-loop steel tube frame. Its design perpetuates the longstanding BMW Motorrad tradition of this frame type. Outstanding manufacturing quality and a meticulous attention to detail is also evident in unapparent features such as the welded joints between the steel tubes and the cast or forged parts. Like the legendary BMW R 5, the rear swingarm – sporting a comparable design – surrounds the rear axle transmission in authentic style by means of bolted connections.

The suspension elements of the new BMW R 18 deliberately dispense with electronic adjustment options. Instead, a telescopic fork and a directly mounted central suspension strut with travel-dependent damping and adjustable spring preload ensure superior wheel control and attractive suspension comfort. The fork tube diameter is 49 mm, while the suspension travel is 120 mm at the front and 90 mm at the rear. The new BMW R 18 braking system consists of a twin disc brake at the front and a single disc brake at the rear in conjunction with four-piston fixed callipers. Meanwhile
the wire-spoked wheels ensure a supremely stylish appearance.

The new R 18 offers the three standard riding modes “Rain”, “Roll” and “Rock” – unusual in this segment – so as to be able to adapt to individual rider preferences. The standard trim also includes lockable fuel filler cap and ASC (Automatic Stability Control, disengageable), which ensures a high level of riding safety. The new R 18 is also equipped as standard with engine drag torque control (MSR), while the Hill Start Control function facilitates uphill starts. Also included in the R 18 are a reverse gear, anti-theft alarm system, anti-hopping clutch and Dynamic Brake Control – the last of which delivers enhanced braking performance on the rear wheel. Meanwhile, Keyless Ride – equipped as standard – adds a modern touch to the new R 18.

Harmoniously blending into the classic style, the circular instrument designed specifically for the new R 18 features an analogue speedometer display and integrated indicator lamps that are “invisible” when not illuminated. Yet despite its supremely classic style, it also offers a wealth of information such as a digital gear indicator display as well as data from the integrated on-board computer. The R 18 also features a newly developed, strikingly designed Adaptive LED headlight with daytime riding light and Headlight Pro system in a high-quality metal housing – plus newly designed LED side indicators with integrated taillight function at the rear to ensure an unmistakable look. The R 18 also comes with passenger seat and running boards as standard.

The new BMW R 18 Classic (locally assembled) in Manhattan Metallic Matt
Price: 990,000 THB (VAT included)

Introducing the second member of BMW Motorrad’s new model series for the cruiser segment, the new BMW R 18 Classic is a nostalgic touring bike that echoes the beginnings of the great touring cruiser models. While its sibling – the R 18 – is very purist in style, the R 18 Classic features a large windscreen, passenger seat, saddle bags, LED additional headlights and 16-inch front wheel.

The newly developed two-cylinder boxer engine remains at the heart of BMW Motorrad’s riding pleasure, including the R 18 Classic. Unparalleled power from this 1,802-cc big boxer boasts a peak output of 67 kW (91 hp) at 4,750 rpm, while maximum torque is 158 Nm at 3,000 rpm. From 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, over 150 Nm of torque is available at all times. The centrepiece of the suspension in the new R 18 Classic is a double-loop steel tube frame. A telescopic fork and a directly mounted central suspension strut with travel-dependent damping and adjustable spring preload ensure superior wheel control and attractive suspension comfort. The braking system consists of a twin disc brake at the front and a single disc brake at the rear in conjunction with four-piston fixed callipers. The BMW R 18 Classic comes bearing wire-spoked wheels to complement its classic design.

The design of the R 18 Classic embodies the iconic purist style with stylistic elements such as the double-loop frame, the tear-drop tank, and the open-running driveshaft. Classic elements are harmoniously blended with modern technologies like the analogue speedometer display and integrated indicator lamps that are “invisible” when not illuminated along with a newly developed, strikingly designed Adaptive LED headlight with daytime riding light and Headlight Pro system. Passenger seat and running boards come as standard in the R 18 Classic.

The new BMW R 18 B (locally assembled) in Blackstorm Metallic
Price: 1,150,000 THB (VAT included)

The new BMW R 18 Transcontinental (locally assembled) in Gravity Blue Metallic
Price: 1,250,000 THB (VAT included)

BMW R 18 B
BMW R 18 Transcontinental

The new R 18 Transcontinental stands out as a luxurious tourer and the new R 18 B as a stylish “Bagger” with its characteristic “streamlining”, which perfectly integrates the front fairing, cases and, in the case of the R 18 Transcontinental, the top case. The functional and style-defining elements such as the double-loop tube frame, the 24-litre pear-drop fuel tank, and the open universal shaft drive represent the iconic style of famous grand tourers and cruisers. Together with the double-sided swinging arm and a cantilever suspension strut, the rigid frame layout of the R 5 has been perfectly transferred to modern times.

The chassis of the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B is a double-loop tube steel frame with a backbone of sheet metal formed parts. The high manufacturing quality and attention to detail are also evident in details such as the welded joints between steel tubes and cast or forged parts. The rear swinging arm encloses the rear axle drive in the same style using bolted connections.

The suspension elements of the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B include a telescopic fork and a directly swinging-arm mounted cantilever suspension strut with travel-dependent damping, and the automatically adjustable spring preload ensure superior light-alloy cast wheel control and responsive suspension comfort. The rear suspension strut features travel-dependent damping and automatic load compensation for enhanced ride response. As in the legendary BMW R 5, the tubes of the telescopic fork are encased in fork sleeves. The new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B are decelerated by
a double disc brake at the front and a single disc brake at the rear in conjunction with four-piston fixed calipers and BMW Motorrad Full Integral ABS.

The R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B are equipped as standard with Active Cruise Control (ACC), allowing relaxed gliding with distance control. With the aid of radar sensors integrated in the front fairing, the motorcycle is either accelerated or decelerated automatically. The ACC also ensures particularly safe cornering. Where necessary, the cornering control system automatically reduces the speed, giving the rider the right speed for a comfortable and safe banking angle.

The R 18 Transcontinental is equipped with an especially comfortable seat and seat heating as standard to ensure long-distance riding comfort even in two-person operation. The R 18 B has a somewhat slimmer two-person seat bench. The new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B are fitted as standard with running boards.

The cockpit, specially designed for the two models, comes equipped with four analogue round instruments and a 10.25-inch TFT colour display which can be connected to a smartphone via BMW Connected App, providing a maximum of functionality and information.

In order to meet individual customer needs, both bikes also feature the three riding modes “Rain”, “Roll” and “Rock” as standard. Other standard equipment also includes Adaptive Headlight, ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and engine drag torque control (MSR) to ensure a high level of riding safety while a reversing aid makes manoeuvring a comfortable affair as the Hill Start Control function makes starting off uphill easy. Both models also come equipped with Anti-Theft Alarm System and Central Lock System as standard.

The new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B offer an intense audio experience. Developed in collaboration with the British manufacturer Marshall and featuring 2-way speakers integrated into the front of the fairing, the sound setup features black cover grilles with gold Marshall lettering to round off the bikes’ classic look. The R 18 B comes equipped with the Marshall Gold Series Stage 1 setup with 2 speakers and 2 subwoofers, while the R 18 Transcontinental goes a step further with the Marshall Gold Series Stage 2 system that encompasses 4 loudspeakers and 2 subwoofers for a total output of 280 watts.
