Bangkok. MINI Thailand is going full-throttle into the era of electric mobility innovations with the launch of its new 5th generation vehicle lineup. The new MINI Family delivers sustainability, minimalistic style combined with digital lifestyle features, as well as fun and exciting performance. The new models promise something for everyone – all aligning with MINI’s global commitment to become fully electric by 2030. Led by the new MINI Cooper SE, this lineup brings more than 60 years of motoring joy into an exciting future, while preserving all of the brand’s signature fun.

Joining the new 3-door electric MINI Cooper SE are two additional MINI Countryman models that are grander in every aspect, suitable for all adventurers. The first-ever MINI Countryman SE offering a fully electric powertrain for the first time while maintaining its adventurous spirit while the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman is a powerful crossover that caters to MINI enthusiasts with a passion for sporty, adventurous driving.

In addition, MINI Thailand unveils the new MINI Aceman SE for Thai fans for the first time as the new member of MINI family that introduces a fully electric compact crossover that blends MINI’s characteristic ‘Go-Kart feeling’ with versatile practicality and showcase unique design features from all angles.

Khun Prapatsara Aramvongsamut, Director of MINI Thailand said, “Today we are thrilled to bring the eagerly awaited electric MINI back to Thai market once again. As the previous model has received tremendously positive feedback from Thai customers as it was sold out in 2023. This time, the new MINI Cooper SE has returned with its 5th generation and will revolutionize Thailand’s electric vehicle industry with its minimalistic design, digital features, and full-on fun and exciting high performance with MINI’s unique go-kart drive feeling.

These new all-electric models combine MINI’s iconic design and exhilarating drive to offer MINI purists and newcomers alike a thoroughly satisfying and sustainable experience. The 5th generation of MINI keeps distinctive characters that MINI fans have always loved alongside incredible performance. Furthermore, through a wide range of advanced digital innovations, the drivers will be able to immerse themselves in the digital worlds while being inside the car just as they do outside it.”

The new MINI Cooper SE

Price: THB 1,699,000 (VAT incl. with MSI Standard Package, covering maintenance up to 4 years with unlimited mileage)

The 5th generation of the new MINI Cooper SE combines the brand’s traditional design DNA with a 100% electric drivetrain and future-oriented technology. It builds upon the exciting “Electrified Go-Kart” driving experience that has thrilled drivers worldwide, featuring a new, cutting-edge minimalistic look and smarter digital innovations for both driver and passengers alike. The body of the new MINI Cooper SE is specifically designed to match its electric drivetrain and offer the optimum aerodynamic efficiency.

“Charismatic Simplicity” design philosophy

At first glance, the new MINI Cooper SE impresses with its new ‘Charismatic Simplicity’ design philosophy. While embracing a fresh, minimalist approach, it maintains MINI’s iconic elements – short overhangs, a compact bonnet and a contrasting long wheelbase with large wheels, all contributing to its thoroughly athletic and urban personality. Focusing on the essentials of the MINI’s character, the all-electric Cooper now features flush door handles and no fender flares or side scuttles conveying the classic MINI design that offers a greater stance. The front end of the vehicle still showcases the iconic circular headlights, which now add a touch of personalised expression with three available Signature light modes including Classic, Favoured, and JCW. The new octagonal front grille with expressive Vibrant Silver accents further emphasise its sporty appeal

The minimalistic style continues on the sides of the all-electric MINI Cooper SE as the black band is nowhere to be found. The streamlined silhouette gives it a best-in-segment drag coefficient of just 0.28 for supreme efficiency. The clean rear surfaces sitting neatly alongside the muscular shoulders and black horizontal handle strip at the trunk.

The answer to sustainability in every aspect

The interior of the new MINI Cooper SE has similarly been reimagined with an eye on both minimalism and sustainability. The dashboard, door panels, and various lids on the inside now utilize 90% recycled polyester fibres. The seats remain as lush and comfortable as ever with Vescin sports seats in Nightshade Blue – MINI’s custom synthetic leather upholstery that replaces traditional leather offering eco-friendly alternative while keeping luxurious look and high quality. Even on the outside, the new MINI’s wheels are also following suit with use of secondary aluminium. Thai fans will be able to own the all-electric MINI Cooper in the Favoured Trim, which sharpens the overall aesthetics with a set of 18-inch wheels in Slide spoke, 2-tone design. The interior stands out with two-toned houndstooth pattern on the knitted-textile instrument panel, and a storage box with knitted surface made with special materials and textile strap for the ease of use.

Circular High-Res OLED display for the first time in automobile industry

Echoing the original MINI from 1959, the front area has been crafted around the large, circular MINI Interaction Unit – a high-resolution OLED display that serves as the interior’s centrepiece. The Interaction Unit offers smartphone-style experiences with the top of the screen reserved for key vehicle information such as speed and battery status, while the remainder of the circular display can seamlessly handle navigation, media controls, and other connectivity features. Alternatively, the head-up display also provides a simple and instinctive way for the driver to check vehicle information without taking their eyes off the road.

The MINI Interaction Unit also offers a new way to personalize your every drive in a colourful manner with the new MINI Experience Modes – 7 different modes that tailor the vehicle’s drive settings and audiovisual experience to create vastly different atmospheres. The standard ‘Core’ mode, for instance, drapes the interior in MINI’s tastefully bold Laguna colour shades, sets the MINI to Comfort driving mode, and delivers standard driving sounds that have been created with both driver satisfaction and pedestrian safety in mind. ‘Go-Kart’ mode switches to a more aggressive Anthracite/Red colour scheme with red ambient light and the drive toggled to Sport and driving sounds inspired by John Cooper Works. ‘Green’ mode puts the car in Efficient driving mode to maximize range, while ambient lighting gives the interior a calming tinge of green with interior driving sounds switched off entirely.

Beyond these three main modes, the MINI Interaction Unit also delivers more distinctive features and characters in four extra modes – from the ability to sync interior lighting to the album art of your current song in ‘Vivid’ mode from the “Colour Grabber” technology and custom background image support in the ‘Personal’ mode to a classy interpretation of MINI’s history through visuals and sounds in ‘Timeless’ mode as well as the understated and serene look of the comfort-focused ‘Balance’ mode.

Under the MINI Interaction Unit at the front console, you will find the new Toggle Bar – yet another rethinking of a classic MINI feature. This iteration of the Toggle Bar offers easy access to key driving functions such as parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, Experience Mode toggle, and volume control for music.

Complete Digital Services and Intelligent Personal Assistant

The eye-catching OLED display is not the only revolutionize star of the new MINI Cooper SE’s tech show. For the first time ever, the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant can be experienced just by calling out “Hey MINI!” or pressing the push-to-talk button on the steering wheel. Beyond responses to your commands, the new Assistant will also be present visually on the MINI Interaction Unit – taking the form of either the default “MINI” character or adorable canine friend “Spike” (unlockable by upgrading the MINI Connected package) that fans will fall in love with.

These innovative experiences are powered by MINI Operating System 9 – a software platform developed in-house by BMW Group based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack. Featuring simple touch-based operation and stylish graphical animations throughout the experience, MINI Operating System 9 works in tandem with the MINI Navigation Package on the road to provide cloud-based navigation with 5G technology and even includes 3D visualisations that help navigate complicated turns with greater confidence. The included MINI Connected Store, meanwhile, introduces a constantly evolving variety of practical and entertaining apps, including gaming, music and video streaming.

The new MINI Cooper SE matches its infotainment and personalization experiences with wide range of driver assistance systems – including automatic parking functions in the Parking Assistant and the optional 1-month, 1-year, 3-year, and lifetime Driving Assistant Plus upgrade packages with Adaptive Cruise Control. MINI Digital Key Plus adds another layer of convenience by turning your smartphone and smartwatch into the car key that automatically activates the welcome lights once the driver is within 3 metres of the car, followed by automatic door unlocking at 1.5 metres. In addition, the engine can be started while the driver is sitting in the driving position and the digital key can be easily and securely handed over to their friends or family members via smartphone.

Elevate Go-Kart driving experience with the thrill of 100% electric mobility

The new MINI Cooper SE delivers enhanced power output and range from its all-new, all-electric powertrain, which produces 160 kW / 218 hp and 330 Nm torque that sends the car from a standstill to 100 km/h time within 6.7 seconds. This powerful, responsive electric motor is further enhanced by a suspension and damping system that is tuned for spirited handling. A low centre of gravity, wider track and the wheelbase has been moved to the corners of the vehicle in a short overhang design guarantee a nimble driving behaviour, offering exciting go-kart feeling with full control. The 54.2 kWh high-voltage battery packs enough power for a maximum range of 402 km based on the WLTP test cycle. Furthermore, the battery’s position in the floor gives the car a low centre of gravity that results in exceptional handling and traction control.

The new MINI Cooper SE’s battery supports AC charging at up to 11 kW, while DC charging supports up to 95 kW for a 10-80% charging time just under 30 minutes. The battery supports charging optimization through settings such as charging times, target battery level, and more with full remote battery information access through the MINI App.

The new MINI Cooper SE is available now from 1,699,000 THB with MSI Standard Package – with available finishes including Blazing Blue, Nanuq White, Melting Silver with Jetblack roof colour, and British Racing Green, Sunny Side Yellow, and Chili Red II with both Jetblack or Glazed White roof colour options.
