Bangkok. BMW Group Thailand has recognised three authorised dealerships – Cherdchai Autohaus, Millennium Auto, and Performance Motors – for their exceptional contributions to sustainability in the Dealer Sustainability Awards 2024. This marks the third consecutive year of the awards program, reflecting BMW Group Thailand’s ongoing commitment to responsible business practices and positive social impact.
The awards are part of the broader “CHOICEISYOURS 2024” initiative, a three-year program designed to empower BMW’s authorised dealers to conduct business responsibly and to recognise the importance of environmental sustainability. The program encourages dealers to develop and implement innovative sustainability practices with measurable results, focusing on reducing carbon dioxide emissions, embracing circular economy principles, promoting employee engagement, and contributing to society. Selection criteria are rooted in the principles of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
Mr. Rene Gerhard, President and CEO of BMW Group Thailand said, “BMW Group Thailand believes that a truly sustainable future requires collaborative effort. Our dealer network is a crucial partner in this journey, and these awards highlight their innovative and impactful initiatives, which are essential to creating a greener and more responsible automotive industry in Thailand. I truly appreciate the efforts of our three dealers who have shown a strong and ongoing commitment in sustainability. Sustainability and economic success go hand in hand at the BMW Group and these dealers have shown exactly that we aspire to lead the way in sustainability and are putting social and environmental issues at the centre of our strategic direction.”

The winners in each category of the Dealer Sustainability Awards 2024 are as follows:
Cherdchai Autohaus’s “ReVolt” initiative, a collaboration with BMW Group Thailand and Suranaree University of Technology, pioneers circular battery management by repurposing used EV batteries for diverse applications. These include fast-charging stations in rural areas with limited infrastructure, backup power for essential medical equipment in local clinics, mobile charging systems for EVs on the go, and energy storage solutions for both industrial facilities and homes to maximize renewable energy use and promote sustainable living.
Outstanding Societal Impact Initiatives
“Giving Something Good: Give Back to Society” by Millennium Auto
Millennium Auto’s “Giving Something Good” project demonstrates a powerful commitment to community and sustainability. The initiative focuses on resourcefulness and social impact on multiple fronts: 1,000 discarded calendars have been transformed into Braille books, empowering the visually impaired through literacy. Furthermore, 3,200 used plastic bottles were donated to Wat Chak Daeng temple for innovative upcycling into monk robes, showcasing a creative approach to circularity.
Excellence in CO2 Reduction Initiatives
“Project South Pole” by Performance Motors
Performance Motors is taking significant steps to reduce its carbon footprint with “Project South Pole.” This initiative includes installing solar panels, switching to digital business cards to reduce paper consumption, and implementing the Kube platform for digital forms, further minimizing paper use and associated carbon emissions.
Outstanding Employee Engagement Leadership
Great Strength Comes From Within” by Performance Motors
Performance Motors fosters a culture of well-being among its employees through the “Great Strength Comes From Within” program. This initiative promotes healthy lifestyles with sports activities, expert nutritional advice, and weight management support, leading to a more energetic and engaged workforce. This positive energy translates into an enhanced customer experience.
BMW Group Thailand remains steadfast in its commitment to a more sustainable future for Thailand, driving positive change for both the environment and society. Since 2022, the CHOICEISYOURS project has been a key initiative, engaging BMW Group Thailand’s dealer network and partnering with seven leading organizations—Central Group and the Chaipattana Foundation, Microsoft Thailand, SCG, Noble Development, and Bangchak Corporation—to educate university students about circular economy principles.
