The leadership is showcased by a strong registration record, with BMW and MINI seeing a significant increase in their segment share, rising to 46.6% in the premium automotive market, a healthy climb of 36.1% year-on-year.
The company plans to build on its successful momentum with the launch of best-in-class models, with headliners such as the first-ever BMW XM, the new BMW X7 xDrive40d M Sport, the new BMW 750e xDrive M Sport, the all-new BMW X1 sDrive18i, the new BMW 3 Series Gran Sedan, MINI Resolute Edition – in three variants, BMW M 1000 R and BMW R 1250 GS in new colour options.

Forward-looking vision with electrifying growth

Driven by increasing demand for state-of-the-art vehicles and the successful implementation of strategic marketing and customer initiatives
in 2022, BMW Group Thailand managed to maintain its Number One position in the premium automotive segment.
BMW and MINI have achieved another major milestone by maintaining the lead in Thailand’s premium market three years in a row. Both brands have seen a significant increase in their segment share, rising to 46.6% in the premium automotive market, with a total of 15,010 vehicles registered – a healthy climb of 36.1% year-on-year (13,572 BMW and 1,438 MINI vehicles registered).

Globally, the BMW Group continued to expand, and maintained its Number One position in the global premium segment as well, with a total of 2,399,636 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles delivered to customers worldwide. The BMW brand also saw strong growth in electrified vehicles. The BMW Group was able to more than double its BEV sales from 2021, with a total of 215,755 fully-electric BMW and MINI vehicles delivered to customers, a magnificent increase of 107.7%. With plug-in hybrids included, sales of electrified vehicles for the full year were up by 35.6%, with over 372,956 EV deliveries, demonstrating increased demand for electromobility. Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad had its highest sales in the company’s history with 202,895 motorcycle and scooter deliveries globally.

For BMW Group Thailand, the growing demand for electric vehicles is also reflected in the high segment share of 40.8%, with 535 vehicles registered in the premium BEV market, increasing five-fold from the previous year. Such success derives from BMW Group Thailand’s continuous offerings of BEVs and plug-in hybrid models, which are now available across all three brands.
Some of the highlighted electric models include the very well-received BMW i7, which made its debut as the official mobility partner for APEC 2022; the MINI Cooper SE,
which continues to thrill the market with its unique and compelling designs; and the BMW CE 04 – an electric scooter that perfectly fits the urban lifestyle. BMW Group Thailand is also working with partners to proactively expand the public charging network, making 900 chargers available for BMW and MINI customers nationwide. Furthermore, a total of approximately 2,500 BMW and MINI Wallboxes have been delivered to customers.

Customers satisfaction at the forefront with continuous expansion of dealership and service outlet network

In line with strong business performance, the highest-ever Net Promoter Score (NPS) in both sales and services in 2022 is another testament that customer-centric strategy is key to driving BMW Group Thailand’s success.
With the goal to bring ultimate satisfaction, service excellence, and sheer driving pleasure to customers in every stage of their journey,
BMW Group Thailand, along with its authorised dealers,
have continuously expanded the dealership network which includes fully-fledged dealership, Service Only Outlets,
and Urban Stores in various locations.

In 2022, a new concept design for BMW showroom and service centre, known as the “Retail Next” was introduced to create refreshing ways for customers to enjoy the relaxing and engaging BMW experience from their first steps at the location.
The new concept was implemented for the first time at Millennium Auto Pattanakarn-Srinakarin, which was opened last year, as well as the recently launched Performance Motors Ratchapruek. Looking forward into 2023,

MINI customers can enjoy the ultimate aftersales service quality with the recent opening of MINI Service Only Outlets in 3 locations:
Millennium Auto Ladprao, German Auto Suvarnabhumi and Platino Motor. For BMW Motorrad Thailand, customers will be able to experience the new design concept that further underlines the “Make Life a Ride” philosophy, bringing the adventurous biker spirit closer to customers than before. Within 2023, the new design concept will be implemented at 2 showrooms – Millennium Auto Ubon Ratchathani and Barcelona Motor Chiang Mai. By the end of 2023, there will 34 outlets for BMW, 18 outlets for MINI and 14 outlets for BMW Motorrad.

Peace of mind on two wheels: Extended warranty and new maintenance service package from BMW Motorrad

Motorcyclists have more peace of mind than ever, with BMW Motorrad Thailand now offering a five-year warranty with unlimited mileage and five years’ mobility service* for motorcycles delivered to customers starting from
1st January 2023 (warranty valid worldwide through any official BMW Motorrad dealership; mobility service covers Thailand only).

Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad Service Inclusive (BMSI)
is first time available starting from 28th February 2023. Customers can select to purchase on top of their product either a 3 years/30,000 kilometres package or a 5 years/50,000 kilometres package (whichever comes first)*.

A strong year for BMW Financial Services Thailand with further commitment to digitalisation and enhancing customers experience

2022 was a challenging year marked by increasing interest rates against inflation. But with customers satisfaction at its heart,
BMW Financial Services Thailand thrived and managed to grow its portfolio size by
4% compared to 2021. Peace of mind, quality service, quick turnaround time, and an attractive range of products and services are what set BMW Financial Services Thailand apart.

More than half of customers who opted for a BMW, MINI or BMW Motorrad put their trust in and chose BMW Financial Services Thailand for their financing needs. Outstanding improvement in customer experience was also seen, as tracked via Net Promotor Score (NPS) in 2022, with the overall experience score increasing by 8 points, and in the ‘Customer Care’ phase by over 23 points. At the same time, BMW Financial Services Thailand showed strong performance in the Used Car Finance segment, which grew over 13% YoY; while corporate sales saw over 65% penetration rate, reflecting trust and success in the customer-centric approach that BMW Financial Services Thailand always strives for.

In 2022, BMW Financial Services Thailand further invested in the transformation of the digital customer experience. Through the ‘MyBMW Finance’ and ‘MyMINI Finance’ portals, customers can conveniently access their financial contracts and other services any time they want.
The customer journey has been even more enhanced with the launch of a new online finance application, which allows customers to verify their identity electronically with the National Digital ID Company (NDID). This digital service allows customers to apply for financial services directly through the BMW Thailand Web Shop, significantly saving time and effort.

Sustainability and social responsibility at the core of corporate strategy

More than ever, all business entities under BMW Group Thailand have put their efforts into following a strategic direction aligned with long-term goals in creating sustainability for society and the environment. BMW Group Thailand aims to support learning opportunities for vocational students through both theoretical and practical training via the BMW Service Apprentice Programme and the German-Thai Dual Excellence Education Programme, with a commitment to promoting next-generation automotive skills – especially on electric vehicles. Over the past eleven years of the programme’s operation, 247 students have participated in the BMW Service Apprentice Programme while 107 students have taken
part in the German-Thai Dual Excellence Education Programme, totalling 354 vocational students. More than 50% of graduated students
remains working within the BMW Group Thailand’s dealers network.

With a mission to bring better quality of life to people in rural areas, the Care4Water initiative brings accessible clean water to areas or communities that do not have sufficient clean water for daily consumption.
Throughout the eight years of the project, BMW Group Thailand has delivered a total of 7,103 water filter system sets to 96 communities in 32 provinces across Thailand.

Designed to inspire the young generation to take action for sustainability, ‘the Choice is Yours’ project was kicked off in 2022 to encourage university students to come up with fresh ideas that can be transformed into reality.
Together with other leading organisation partners, BMW Group Thailand supports young students to put their ideas to the test and see how they can think of ways to REduce, REuse, REthink, and REcycle – supporting them with expertise and internship experiences that benefit both their own future and the world’s. The Choice is Yours project also extends to the dealership through the Sustainability Awards – in which BMW Group Thailand shows recognition of authorised dealers that operate their business sustainably. The Choice is Yours project continues in 2023 to build on the success from last year.

Price adjustment for selected BMW models from March 2023 onwards

Due to the impact from increasingly global inflation rates and input costs, BMW Thailand announced a price adjustment for selected BMW models, effective from 1st March 2023 onwards.

The first-ever BMW XM is powered by a 4.4-litre V8-cylinder petrol engine with cutting-edge M TwinPower Turbo technology. The M HYBRID drive system equipped in the BMW XM enhances performance while generating zero local emissions when cruising, delivering an overall output of 480 kW/653 hp with a maximum torque of up to 800 Nm. The combustion engine generates engine power with up to 360 kW/489 hp at 5,400-7,200 rpm, with a maximum torque of up to 650 rpm at 1,600-5,000 rpm; the electric drive system delivers motor power with up to 145 kW/197 hp with an electric motor torque of 280 Nm. The M Hybrid button on the centre console is used to select one of three operating modes, including an ELECTRIC setting for cruising with zero local emissions at speeds of up to 140 km/h and over a maximum distance of 98 km in the NEDC standard.
This is thanks to the lithium-ion high-voltage battery mounted in the car’s underbody and the 29.5 kWh of usable energy it provides. The BMW XM accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, and to a top speed of 270 km/h. The M xDrive technology installed in the first-ever BMW XM ensures that power is effectively transferred to the road and elevates driving dynamics. The plug-in hybrid BMW 750e xDrive M Sport emphasises a significant step up from its renowned predecessor, with an innovative specification designed to deliver incredible driving pleasure, unsurpassed long-distance comfort, and a cutting-edge digital experience.

The model comes as standard with Adaptive LED Headlights and features a cornering function. Made with Swarovski crystals, ‘Iconic Glow’ kidney grille and headlights create luxurious light effects. For the first time, the ‘L’ shape of the light bars is also continued in the glass geometry, which gives the rear lights an even more striking appearance.
