BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand Recommences MINI Countryman Production in Plant Rayong, Encouraging Greater Affordability and Quality

Rayong. In a move that reaffirms its dedication to Thailand’s automotive industry and mission to meet strong market demand for its premium vehicles, BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand has announced that assembly of the popular MINI Countryman has resumed at its cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong Province, returning production for this much-desired nameplate to Thailand for the first time in seven years while encouraging competitive pricing for local buyers.

The localization of MINI Countryman production in Thailand enables flexible manufacturing and the production of the MINI Countryman S ALL4 Classic and Hightrim models on a shared production line, allowing Plant Rayong to attain optimal efficiency and quality for consumers, making the MINI Countryman a more attractive option for Thai customers seeking a premium vehicle at great price without any compromise on BMW’s high standards. As such, MINI Thailand is now offering the MINI Countryman at more accessible prices, starting from 2,599,000 THB for the Classic edition and 2,799,000 THB for the Hightrim edition.

To mark the occasion, Mr. Erik Ruge, Managing Director of BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand, stated “BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand is proud to recommence assembly of the MINI Countryman in Thailand. This decision was the result of our commitment to the Thai market and our belief in this much-sought-after nameplate. Our local production facilities adhere to the strictest quality control measures, ensuring that each MINI Countryman meets the highest standards of assembly quality. This commitment to excellence allows us to deliver vehicles that combine style and driving pleasure with reliability.” เTo mark the occasion, Mr. Erik Ruge, Managing Director of BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand, stated “BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand is proud to recommence assembly of the MINI Countryman in Thailand. The Fan-Favourite MINI Countryman: Built in Thailand, Ready for Anything

The MINI Countryman S ALL4 comes with advanced features and high specifications that cater to the needs of modern drivers. From its powerful engine to its state-of-the-art infotainment system, every aspect of the MINI Countryman has been designed to provide an unparalleled driving experience with the ALL-4 (all-time four-wheel drive).

The MINI Countryman S ALL4 clean and clear-cut look has won the hearts of Thai MINI fans since its unveiling at the end of 2024. With fresh takes on the MINI design hallmarks, such as the short overhang and bonnet on top of a contrasting long wheelbase and octagonal front grille, the new Countryman stands out with its new Slate Blue paintwork and a roof finished in Jet Black. The Classic variant sits on a set of 18-inch Asteroid Spoke wheels, while the upgraded Hightrim edition is decked out in 19-inch Kaleido Spoke 2-tone wheels.

The Countryman S ALL4 is powered by the proven 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering 150 kW / 204 hp of power and 300 Nm max torque to all four wheels via the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system. Both the Classic and Hightrim variants share the same 0-100 km/h time of 7.4 seconds and 228 km/h top speed.

On the outside, both trims share the same LED headlight system with high-beam assistant, roof and mirror caps finished in black, and roof rails for all your outdoor exploits, while the Hightrim version adds a scenic touch for driver and passengers alike with a panorama glass roof. Inside, the Classic trim offers a sport steering wheel, active seat for the driver, adjustable rear seats, and the massive round OLED display that is the centerpiece of the modern MINI – complete with access to MINI Connected services and a wireless charging tray for your smartphone.

Owners of the Hightrim variant will enjoy the upgraded John Cooper Works sport seats with matching Anthracite headliner for a sportier look, plus more immersive entertainment on the road via the Harman Kardon surround sound system. Upholstery options include a combination of Vescin and cloth in black/blue for the Countryman S ALL4 Classic and Vescin in Vintage Brown / Dark Petrol for Hightrim.

En route to your next destination, the new MINI Countryman S ALL4 offers complete control and confidence with driving and parking assistants – including Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Park Distance Control (PDC), post-crash collision warning and more.

BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand in Rayong: Local Production at the Highest Standard

BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand began its operations in 2000. The facility, which has a production area covering around 253,000 sqm, is located in the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong Province, roughly 114 kilometres (70 miles) Southeast of Bangkok.

BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand has the capability to assemble 18 different models of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad, with an annual production capacity of more than 30,000 BMW & MINI vehicles and up to 15,000 BMW Motorrad motorcycles, making it one of the group’s flexible assembly facilities equipped with a highly skilled and dedicated Thai workforce. All 3 brands (BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad) are manufactured locally at Plant Rayong, which is the sole facility in the global BMW Group production network featuring this production mix. Since its commencement in 2000, BMW Manufacturing Thailand has played a significant role in enhancing the competitiveness of BMW in the Thai market, a trend likely to be accelerated with the re-introduction of the MINI Countryman.
