The new BMW 530e Luxury

The new BMW 530e Luxury boasts exterior appearance that exudes luxurious design accents in Chrome and clearly structured surfaces at the front and rear. The BMW kidney grille in Chrome surround immediately catches the eye with an octagonal form. This modern interpretation of the BMW icon adds extra width and height, drops down further into the front apron and is framed by a single-piece surround. Also playing their part in the grille’s arresting appearance are the vertical bars, the top sections of which jut further out. The larger dimensions of the BMW kidney grille provide an attractive contrast against the slim Adaptive LED headlights with L-shaped daytime driving lights to create a focused look. A premium character beyond that of market rivals is reflected in the high level of development of its electric drive system and chassis technology, its elegant design, uncompromising standards when it comes to quality of materials and workmanship and the wide variety of individualisation options available.

The new BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport combines a 210 kW/286 hp electric motor with classical rear-wheel drive. Its maximum range as per the WLTP cycle is up to 483 kilometres with electric energy consumption between 18.7 and 15.8 kWh/100 km and up to 490 kilometres in the NEDC cycle with electric energy consumption at 15.2 kWh/100 km. The drive system generates peak torque of 400 Nm, giving it a 0 – 100 km/h time of 6 seconds. The new BMW iX xDrive40 Sport harnesses the latest innovations in the fields of electrification, automated driving, and connectivity to deliver a mobility experience which puts people more than ever at its heart. It is equipped with efficient BMW eDrive technology and fully electric all-wheel drive which work together to achieve an exceptional range and deliver powerful acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The new BMW iX xDrive40 Sport has a combined output of 240 kW/326 hp. The fifth-generation BMW eDrive – paired to the very latest battery cell technology – results in WLTP-calculated ranges from 372 to 425 kilometres and 420 kilometres according to NEDC cycle and peak torque at 630 Nm. The high-voltage battery in the BMW iX xDrive40 Sport contains a high voltage battery energy content of 76.6 kWh. Maximum charging power DC is 150 kW. This allows the battery’s state of charge to be increased from 0 to 80 per cent in 34 minutes.

The standard chassis technology for the BMW iX xDrive40 Sport comprises a double wishbone front axle, five-link rear axle, lift-related dampers and an electric steering system with Servotronic function and a variable ratio along with 22-inch aerodynamic wheels in bicolour 3D polished buff with noise-reduced tyres, which have a layer of foam on their inner surface to improve acoustic comfort.

Another successful model in the premium compact car segment has been brought to the Multitone Edition to celebrate the diverse MINI community in the new MINI Cooper S Clubman Multitone Red, with exterior and interior details that add on to the expressive design. The MINI Multitone Edition conveys a friendly, positive attitude to life and picks up on the many different “facets of life” in terms of colour, especially for the roof which is the perfect canvas to express individual personality. The new colour of the roof highlights the colourful lifestyle that is underpinned by the bright red gradient in the Multitone Roof Red.

Created by the innovative wet-on-wet painting process used by the British MINI plant in Oxford and the Spray Tech paint finish, the three colour shades of the roof are applied directly one after the other. From the bright Chilli Red in the front section of the roof, the colour scheme transitions elegantly to the more subdued grey shade of Melting Silver, then changes to Jet Black in the rear section. Starting at the front of the vehicle, the round LED headlights with daytime driving lights and the hexagonal radiator grille

BMW Motorrad is proud to announce the highly-anticipated release of an updated edition of their iconic supersports bike, originally unveiled in 2009. The new BMW S 1000 RR boasts a host of advanced features, including a more power engine, advanced suspension and chassis, the new Brake Slide Assist and DTC Slide Control assistance systems, as well as optimised aerodynamics complete with winglets, a sleek new rear end, and a range of innovative assistance systems. The new BMW S 1000 RR features water/oil-cooled 4-cylinder 4-stroke in-line engine, four titanium valves per cylinder, BMW ShiftCam with the capacity of 999 cc. With a completely newly developed engine and suspension, engine output increased to 154 kW (210 hp) at 13,750 rpm with the maximum speed of 303 km/h. Rideability and sprint capability benefit from a substantially increased torque across a wide engine speed range with 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The models have fuel consumption of 6.4 litres per 100 km and support unleaded super (premium) fuel with octane number 95-98.

The heart of the chassis of the new RR is the advanced “Flex Frame”, newly defined chassis and suspension geometry. The aluminium bridge frame is a welded construction of four gravity die-cast elements and integrates the engine. With the aim of optimising flexibility laterally, the main frame of the new RR was given several openings in the side areas. The focus of the new chassis was also on further increasing riding precision, increased accuracy and clearer feedback from the front wheel.

For ideal adaptation to varied conditions of use, the new RR is fitted with the four modes “Rain”, “Road”, “Dynamic” and “Race” with an addition of “Pro Modes” as standard. These enable individual adaptation of the most diverse control functions such as Dynamic Traction Control DTC which now comes with the Slide Control function. It allows the rider to select two preset drift angles for the traction control system when accelerating out of bends. Technically, this is achieved using a steering angle sensor. Up to the respective leaning angle, the traction control system allows slippage at the rear wheel when accelerating out of a bend, thus enabling rear wheel drift. When the preset steering angle value is reached, traction control intervenes, reduces slip and
stabilises the motorcycle.

The ABS Pro which is equipped as standard in the new S 1000 RR now comes with the new Brake Slide Assist function
which is an important and very helpful innovation for racetrack riders.
As in the new DTC Slide Control function, this new system is also based on steering angle sensors and allows the rider to set a specific drift angle for so-called braking drifts while sliding into corners at a maintained speed. Hill Start Control are included in the safety package to enable the bike to set off conveniently on slopes whereas Cruise Control allows riders to keep their vehicle at a constant speed. Moreover, the Shift Assist Pro allows shifting up and down in almost all load ranges and engine speed ranges without clutch control. Heated grips also prevent hand numbness and fatigue that is
common when riding in cold weather.

As with the M RR, winglets on the new RR now ensure the best possible contact of the front wheel with the road – especially when accelerating. They generate aerodynamic downforce and thus additional load on the wheels. The BMW S 1000 RR also comes with M Chassis Kit with raised rear end and adjustable swing arm pivot and M lightweight battery as standard.

When it comes to design, the new edition of the RR benefits from a redesigned front section including winglets, a new, lighter and sportier-looking rear section. The standard full LED lights
ncluding head light, taillight and turn indicator give the bike an absolutely dynamic and aggressive look.

The new R 18 Transcontinental stands out as a luxurious tourer and the new R 18 B as a stylish “Bagger” with its characteristic “streamlining”, which perfectly integrates the front fairing, cases and, in the case of the R 18 Transcontinental, the top case. The functional and style-defining elements such as the double-loop tube frame, the 24-litre pear-drop fuel tank, the open universal shaft drive and the double-line paintwork represent the iconic style of famous grand tourers and cruisers. Together with the double-sided swinging arm and a cantilever suspension strut, the rigid frame layout of the R 5 has been
perfectly transferred to modern times. Both models are now available in a variety of colour options.

The heart of the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B is a 2-cylinder boxer engine, the “Big Boxer”, is the most powerful 2-cylinder flat twin engine ever built in motorbike series production. It boasts an engine capacity of 1,802 cc, generating an output of 67 kW (91 hp) at 4,750 rpm. In the 3,000-rpm range, it delivers more than 158 Nm of torque at all times as well as elemental pulling power and sonorous sound with the maximum speed of over 180 km/h. The chassis of the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B is a double-loop tube steel frame with a backbone of sheet metal formed parts. The high manufacturing quality and attention to detail are also evident in details such as the welded joints between steel tubes and cast or forged parts. The rear swinging arm encloses the rear axle drive in the same style using bolted connections.

The suspension elements of the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B include a telescopic fork and a directly swinging-arm mounted cantilever suspension strut with travel-dependent damping, and the automatically adjustable spring preload ensure superior light-alloy cast wheel control and responsive suspension comfort. The rear suspension strut features travel-dependent damping and automatic load compensation for enhanced ride response. As in the legendary BMW R 5, the tubes of the telescopic fork are encased in fork sleeves. The new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B are decelerated by a double disc brake at the front and a single disc brake at the rear in conjunction with four-piston fixed calipers and BMW Motorrad Full Integral ABS.

The R 18 Transcontinental is equipped with an especially comfortable seat and seat heating as standard to ensure long-distance riding com fort even in two-person operation. The R 18 B has a somewhat slimmer two-person seat bench. The new
R 18 Transcontinental is fitted as standard with running boards and the new
R 18 B with wider and more comfortable footrests than the R 18.

The cockpit, specially designed for the two models, comes equipped with four analogue round instruments and a 10.25-inch TFT colour display. Featuring the iconic “BERLIN BUILT” lettering, it follows the classic style of the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B on the one hand, and on the other hand offers a perfectly readable TFT colour display
which can be connected to a smartphone via BMW Connected App, providing a maximum of functionality and information.

The standard trim also includes a lockable fuel filler cap and ASC (Automatic Stability Control), which ensures a high level of riding safety. In order to meet individual customer needs, both bikes also feature the three riding modes “Rain”, “Roll” and “Rock” as standard. Other standard equipment also includes
Adaptive Headlight with Daytime Riding Light, ASC (Automatic Stability Control) to ensure a high level of riding safety while a reversing aid makes manoeuvring a comfortable affair as the Hill Start Control function makes starting off uphill easy. The LED headlights, LED indicators, and LED rear and brake lights lend a striking look to both models, while the BMW R 18 Transcontinental boasts the added elegance of LED additional fog lights. Both models also come equipped with Anti-Theft Alarm System (DWA) and Keyless Ride as standard. Tyre pressure control ensures that riders maintain their vehicle’s tyres properly inflated, while reverse gear allows a vehicle to
roll backwards without having to push it.

The new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B offer an intense audio experience. Developed in collaboration with the British manufacturer Marshall and featuring 2-way speakers integrated into the front of the fairing, the sound setup features black cover grilles with white Marshall lettering to round off the bikes’ classic look. The R 18 B comes equipped with the Marshall Gold Series Stage 1 setup with 2 speakers and 2 subwoofers, while the R 18 Transcontinental goes a step further with the Marshall Gold Series Stage 2 system that encompasses 4 loudspeakers and 2 subwoofers for a total output of 280 watts.

The new BMW R 18 Transcontinental comes with Black Storm Metallic and Option 719 Mineral White Metallic while the new BMW R 18 B features Black Storm Metallic, Manhattan Metallic Matte, Gravity Blue Metallic, Option 719 Mineral White Metallic and
Option 719 Galaxy Dust Metallic.
